Join Skybound Entertainment’s Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead franchise, Invincible) and the company’s CEO and fellow producer David Alpert (The Walking Dead franchise, Outcast) as they discuss their upcoming slate of television and film projects including the film adaptation of Kirkman’s long-running comic book series Invincible, their AMC comic book docuseries, Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics, and more. Kirkman and Alpert will be joined by Skybound Entertainment’s Catherine Winder (The Angry Birds Movie, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Sean Furst (Star-Crossed, Dice) and TQ Jefferson (Telltale’s The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Michonne) who will deep dive into what’s next for the company in virtual reality, gaming, and the animation space. The panel will be moderated by Steve Zaragoza.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Party and Signing with Kevin Eastman

Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will be signing The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cookbook at the Insight Editions booth on Saturday, July 22 from 4:00-5:00pm.

The first 25 people who purchase a copy of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cookbook during Kevin Eastman’s signing on Saturday will receive a ticket to attend an exclusive TMNT-themed pizza party where Kevin Eastman will be in attendance. The pizza party will be that night (Saturday, July 22) from 9:00-11:00pm.

Back to the Future Collectible Signing with Bob Gale

Hop on your hoverboard and head to Insight Editions’ booth for a chance meet Bob Gale, co-creator and producer of Back to the Future, for an exclusive signing of the Back to the Future: Sculpted Movie Poster & Back to the Future: The Ultimate Visual History Collector’s Edition on Friday, July 21 from 2:00-3:00pm. The first 100 fans that purchase the collectible at the Insight Editions booth or show proof of an online purchase will receive an exclusive Back to the Future bookplate signed by Bob Gale, and will have an opportunity for a quick meet-and-greet.

Attendees of Comic-Con International can purchase the collectible at the Insight Editions booth (#3721) or online using this link, but they must still be one of the first 100 people present at the Insight Editions booth on Friday, July 21, at 2:00pm to get a bookplate signed by Bob Gale.

Kody Kapow

In celebration of the network’s launch of the new original series, Kody Kapow, Sprout invites kids and families to use their muscles and minds on a transformative journey filled with high energy martial arts and immersive experiences in the Kody Kapow: Kapower Up Training Camp. Kicking off at San Diego Comic-Con this July, the training camp will feature Kapowerful activities that allow each child discover his or her inner superhero.

Kapower Up Training Camp includes the following experiences:

  • Iconic Main Gate Welcome: With a grand dragon-themed entrance, attendees will be welcomed by the Kapowerful Coaches to get ready for the action.

  • Hall of Kapower: Attendees will be able to test their focus and martial arts skills with the Kinect-based Kapower Up video game featuring an interactive and engaging character guiding guests through the game.

  • Martial Arts Temple: The journey continues with a martial arts expert who will lead a 5-7-minute lesson in a series of both mindful and action-packed moves.

  • Walkabout Characters: Attendees can meet and pose for photos with characters from the show including Kody Kapow, his cousin Mei, and their tiger friend Goji.

  • Kapowerful Warrior Course with Slow-Mo Jump Video: The journey concludes at the most epic Kapower Training station which will feature a Warrior Course with sloped vaults, a net crawl, a bag slide, monkey bars, and a warped wall. The Strain – One Last Time

FX Networks announced today, the return of “FXhibition” to San Diego Comic-Con with a slate of thrilling interactive experiences encouraging fans to bend the boundaries of reality.  “FXhibition” will take center stage on the lawn of the Hilton Bayfront Hotel July 20-23 with innovative installations from hit shows like Legion, American Horror Story, Atlanta, The Strain and Archer 

As previously announced, FX will deliver SESSIONS: THE LEGION MIXED REALITY EXPERIENCE – powered by the Microsoft HoloLens – that will bring its critically-acclaimed series, Legion, to life at FXHibition. The HoloLens will transport fans into the headspace of the show’s lead character, “David Haller,” where they will be able to interact with his world and test the boundaries of their own reality.  Advanced reservations can be made at, beginning July 17. 

American Horror Story fans can get a tease of the upcoming season through the mesmerizing, larger-than-life AHS Zoetrope.  The mind-bending experience promises to present the chilling series in a whole new way.

 The “FXhibition” space will also provide plenty of sharable moments for fans.  A unique photo booth inspired by breakout series Atlanta plays off the series’ mix of surreal elements with hyper-real themes.   Once inside, participants will be able to capture shareable videos of themselves walking up walls and treading on the ceiling as they experience life from every perspective. 

 Other sharable video and photo opportunities at “FXhibition” include:

·         The FX Scene Stealer, which will use the power of green screen technology to allow attendants to star in personalized scenes from original series like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, Legion, and The Strain.

·         The Strain Sun Protection Station, which will feature some of the show’s iconic props including Bolivar’s head and multiple stingers, as well as provide life-saving sunscreen to protect fans from harmful rays.

·         Snowfall Lacing Station, where fans can get their own sneakers re-laced by experts in unique styles with FX-branded laces.

·         The Archer Wet Bar will encourage fans to rehydrate with water.

·         FX Swag Box, a branded claw machine to distribute limited edition prizes, an experience that fans will want to share.

 The “FXhibition” space will also host an early screening of the first two episodes of the new and final season of The Strain on Friday, July 21 from 7 – 9 PM.

“The Female Voices of Film Twitter,” led by  Fandango correspondent Alicia Malone, along with Jacqueline Coley (Black Girl Nerds), Angie Han (Mashable), Aisha Harris (Slate), Rachel Heine (Nerdist), Amy Nicholson (MTV, The Canon Podcast), Melissa Silverstein (Women and Hollywood(), and Jen Yamato (LA Times).

Coming off of a TEDx Talk where she discussed the future of women in film, Fandango correspondent Alicia Malone is taking to the Horton Grand stage to celebrate the launch of her new book, Backwards and in Heels. Joining Malone will be some of today’s best and brightest female film journalists to provide advice for both aspiring journalists and filmmakers seeking to break into this industry. They will also discuss how to empower more women to tell their stories and the importance of the female voice in film coverage and social media. Panelists include Jacqueline Coley (Black Girl Nerds), Angie Han (Mashable), Aisha Harris (Slate), Rachel Heine (Nerdist), Amy Nicholson (MTV, The Canon Podcast), Melissa Silverstein (Women and Hollywood), and Jen Yamato (LA Times).

Star Trek Discovery

On Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22, as part of the #TrekDiscovery Challenge throughout San Diego, fans will encounter an array of authentically costumed Trek ambassadors, representing crews from the first five “Star Trek” television series (The Original Series, “The Next Generation,” “Deep Space Nine,” “Voyager” and “Enterprise”). Fans who post photos of themselves with ambassadors from each of the five series’ crews – and in the STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Captain’s Chair at the Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts Gallery – and who tag all six photos with the #TrekDiscovery challenge hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, will be eligible to win a Roku streaming stick and a subscription to CBS All Access. Prizes will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can find clues regarding the location of the #TrekDiscovery crews by following @StarTrek on Twitter and Instagram.

 11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. PT: Join truTV and thousands of fans at the one-of-a-kind Block Party extravaganza celebrating all things Impractical Jokers. On top of exclusive merchandise from Spencer’s – including a new line of 3¾-inch Impractical Jokers action figures – a White Castle food truck, Wheel of Doom tattoos and a set from DJ G Money, this massive block party will give fans a chance to get up close and personal with some of the show’s most exciting and iconic dares and punishments.   • Virtual Reality High Wire Experience: Sponsored by Mountain Dew, fans can get a first-hand VR-experience walking the same tightrope the Jokers crossed during their 100th Episode Live Spectacular (Season 4; Episode 26);

The Sparrow

Critically acclaimed, electronic violinist and author Lindsey Stirling has announced plans to put out her first comic book titled SPARROW, scheduled to release in November through Golden Apple Books and Aspen Comics.

Creatively overseen by Darick Robertson (TransmetropolitanThe Boys and Happy!) with additional co-writing from R. Eric Lieb, SPARROW will roll out as a 6-issue arc comic book series and follows the story of a girl struggling to survive in a world where light and hope are quickly disappearing. Those in charge have stolen the planet’s energy for themselves, stripping the average person of wealth, dignity, and even their names. After finding a piece of an ancient object and stowing away on a pirate ship, Sparrow embarks on an incredible journey, discovering that by being strong and brave, one girl can not only find her place in the world, but she can change it.

Lindsey will be making an exclusive appearance at San Diego’s Comic-Con on Saturday, July 22nd at the San Diego Convention Center, where she will speak at the Aspen Panel in room #4 starting at 12pm, followed by a fan signing at the Aspen Booth #2320 from 3-4pm.  On Sunday, July 23rd, she is scheduled to do a signing at the Golden Apple Booth #1806 at 11am with award winning artist David Mack (Jessica Jones, American Gods, Fight Club 2, etc.).
