At last week’s Jump Festa anime festival in Japan, Toei Animation announced start of production on a new Dragon Ball feature film – the 20th in the franchise’s long history. With an original story, screenplay, and character design overseen by series creator Akira Toriyama, the new film promises to explore the mysterious history behind one of Dragon Ball’s core mythologies – the Saiyan. Since “Battle of the Gods”, Goku has undergone new forms from Super Saiyan God to Super Saiyan Blue to other evolved forms that have gone up against many invincible warriors from multiple universes.  This new story will focus on the origin of Goku’s strength and what it means to be Saiyan. The film is confirmed for a Japanese release in December 2018, and more details will be announced as the production develops.

The future will crumble as history re-writes itself in the great time travel apocalypse. Incredible battles rage across time.

It is the year 2258 when nineteen year old China Winter discovers her ability to cross the veil between worlds. On a quest to find her missing brother Maddox, she finds herself summoned by the father of time travel – Nikola Tesla to help save the whole of humanity; both past and future souls. China must sacrifice so much as she is dragged ever deeper into a treacherous and eternal time war.

Stepping back in time from her steampunk-esque existence, China finds herself caught up in the most incredible battles. Every army that ever existed can materialise in the wrong time or place, at any given moment to lay siege upon the earth. Slipping back and forth between the mists of time, history re-writes itself, playing havoc on the very fabric of reality. Can she survive the world of hauntings, poltergeist manifestations and time slips to save the universe from complete obliteration?

The entire cosmos is on the verge of collapse as the war to end time itself, rips through the space-time continuum. Time travel is distorted as history ceases to exist. Time slips and unprecedented levels of paranormal activity are on the rise, as souls become trapped in a perpetual state of war.

“My goal, from the very outset, was to guide readers on a very personal exploration of the links between our world, and the paranormal, as well as the possibility of time travel between parallel universes”, explains the author. “I wanted to do it in a way anyone can relate to, hence the inclusion of real people such as Dr. Mary Edwards Walker and Nikola Tesla. The lines blur even further as the narrative explores actual historical events that include the US Military’s ‘Philadelphia Experiment’ of 1943, and some time slip cases closer to home.”

Continuing, “Time travel, and travel between worlds, is something we all secretly crave. I want to give people a thrilling read, while also the space to revel in this fantasy. I’m confident many will be left questioning every aspect of their life.”

Early reviews have been impressive. For example, Aine Kelly comments, “This book was really intriguing. I was caught up in the world of China Winters and the adventures she had. I would recommend this book without hesitation. One word – BRILLIANT.”

Kelley Keogh adds, “Brilliantly written book, had me engrossed from start to finish, and the attention to detail made it so easy to imagine the events could be real. Loved it!”
