My guests include Harriet Walter and Claire Perkins, who discuss the intricate relationship between their characters, Martha Walker and Carla McLean. We’ll also hear from Shane McRae and Remmie Miller, whose characters, Knox and Shirley, navigate the engineering challenges within the silo.
Harriet Walter: It has such a history we don’t know the details of. We’ve been imagining the details of our earlier history and, you know, imagining these two women in their 30s, 40s, harboring knowledge that is quite dangerous for the rest of the silo and feeling the responsibility of what you do with that knowledge while you’re still somewhat cowed by the overall rules of the system.
Shane McRae: It really gets to the. I think the difference between the two characters and sort of. And a lot of people in our society or whatever, there’s a. Knox is a guy who wants to keep it steady and is about following the system and using the system and surely wants to Burn it all down. And so they both have to come to a realization that maybe neither one is going to work.
Remy Miller: I mean, absolutely. And to. And to not know what the truth was or to. Or to think you knew. And then. Wait, now you’re questioning it. And is Juliet alive? Is she not? I mean, not only as a character, but as an actor. That was a fun thing to play. With, you know, and as they’re traveling up and down the silo, they’re presented with so many different versions of events that just shift things for them that they weren’t expecting. And it’s. Yeah, it’s dream come true playing.
