Trek Tuesday Special Volume 4
This is Trek Tuesday, another special by Volume 4, and we have two conversations.First, At a junket for another TV series, I had a chance to chat with F. Murray Abraham, and he told me an interesting story about Star Trek Insurrection. Morgan Shepard is a great actor. He’s had a distinguished career. Unfortunately, we did lose him a few years ago. He’s been on Star Trek The Next Generation several times, and we talk about that a little bit, but his last appearance, it turned out to be, was one of the Vulcan council of the Vulcan Science Academy, that Spock had applied for membership. That’s a key moment in Spock’s life, and Zachary Quinto was the only actor that did that scene from Spock’s life.
F. Murray Abraham: I’m, I’m chasing after uh Patrick (Stewart) and I’m trying to kill him, right? And I’m running and jumping. It was a big, there must have been 4 cameras all over. It’s a big set. And and we’re running and hiding and, you know, pointing and running and, and, and it was like a long take and they said, OK, we’re gonna do it again, of course, you know, take two, and they did the same thing and I’m I’m leaping and I mean it’s a lot of work and you know you just go like this and then they put the stuff in later and they said, OK, we’re gonna do it again and I said, wait a minute, you got 4 cameras, we’ve done it twice. What do you, what do you mean we do it again? You’re making noise.
Morgan Sheppard: Voyager and I’ve done 4 Star Trek it that way. There you go. There you go. Voyager was one of my favorites was one of my favorites.He did a great job, but what was Zachary Quinto and working with him? Oh, he’s lovely, lovely, very serious about what he’s doing, obviously because it was huge.And um he used to be with my agent actually that’s great, yeah, and he’s he’s gone my I belong to a I work out of a boutique agency. You know, yeah, I’ve got to the granddad stage of the career now, you know what I mean, that the parts have got smaller, but um they they’re chewy, they’re juicy, you know, juicy little cameos I get. That was a real juicy one.
