Star Wars Projects Count EM eight Unveiled and confirmed at the recent Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo the big announcement at Star Wars Celebration was Star Wars Starfighter movie. According to Empire, Ryan Gosling will star with Deadpool’s Shawn Levy directing. The movie is set five years after the rise of Skywalker and it was stressed this is a standalone film.

Star Wars has framed my idea of what a movie is, noted Ryan Gosling. Director Levy added, the Force is the fans and we are fans too now this opens up Star wars into the future rather than filling in details of the past. Other projects confirmed by Kathleen Kennedy, who runs Lucasfilm, are Dawn of the Jedi from James Mangold, Taiki Waititi’s unnamed Star wars movie, Simon Kinberg’s new trilogy, and Sharmin Obiad Chinoy’s new Jedi Order with Daisy Ridley. To recap with the Mandalorian and Grogu movie, there are eight Star wars projects coming.

Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow actor David Krumholtz has confirmed via an Instagram post, according to Collider, that the film has done filming. He plays Zor El, Supergirl’s father, in the movie and posted images of his chair with his name and character posted on it. The movie is set to preview with the Superman film as Supergirl herself. Millie Alcock is set to appear with cousin Kal El. The movie is based on the Woman of Tomorrow comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Supergirl is on a quest through space looking for justice with a young alien woman named Ruthie Mary Noel, who lost her father to an alien pirate named Krem. Matthias Schoenaerts will appear as Krem. As Lobo, Jason Momoa will mark the character’s first live action appearance.

Deadline reviews the Ugly Stepsister Damon Wise writes, Emily Blishfelt’s dark, funny, provocative film could easily lose a few of these moments to find a slightly more mainstream audience than it will end up attracting. Interestingly, Blishfeld has a lot of time for the characters that are usually branded villains in the traditional story. And in quite the switcheroo, the portrays Elvira’s rival Agnes, the Cinderella of this story, as a snooty brat who is demoted to scullery maid after being caught having sex with the stable boy. But even so, there’s no sense of the rivalry that’s so key to the folktale it’s based on. Even in this heightened fairytale world. All Women are second class citizens there for the enjoyment of men.

Variety has casting news on Andy Serkis animated film Animal Farm, with Seth Rogen, Glenn Close, Gaten Matarazzo, Laverne Co, Kiernan Culkin, Steve Buscemi, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner and Ayman Vellani joining the cast. Nick Stoller adapted the classic novel into this animated film.

According to Empire, Sam Neill joins the monsterverse in Godzilla v the next Empire sequel, along with Caitlin Deaver, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Matthew Modine and Alicia Dedman Carey. Additionally, Dan Stevens is set to return as veterinarian Trapper Beasley. There’ll be new human characters will be introduced, some of which I just mentioned, and Kong and Godzilla themselves will return. Grant Sputor directs from a script from David Callahan. Empire reports on the Last of Us Shocker Spoiler ahead as we saw in the video game and now on the HBO series, Joel, played by the busy Pedro Pascal, was killed by Abby, played by Caitlyn Deaver. Gamers knew this was coming and waited for the moment to arrive. Some speculated it would be in season three, but nope, here it is. There are subtle differences in both the game and the TV series, which the article dives into, but the article states that the TV adaptation is, lol, remarkably faithful recreation of gaming’s most jaw dropping kill scene dialogue. Like you don’t get to rush. This is identical. The ski lodge where it happens is exactly as depicted in the game. More importantly, the power and horror of the scene is arguably even more impactful here, helped by heartbreaking, perfectly pitched performances.

It’s almost hard to watch Ramsey as Ellie in this scene, her powerlessness and impotent rage at watching it all unfold, wrapped up with the complex feelings of regret at the recent deterioration of her relationship with Joel. Ramsay sells it beautifully. Meanwhile, Pascal does so much with so little paralyzed by the ferocious beating he’s been given, his face is an ocean of subtle quiet sadness. And Deever is astonishing too, her take on Abby more brittle and broken than the more muscular version found in the game.
